As a cooperative, we provide a platform for individuals and organizations committed to sustainable and responsible industry growth. As an industry council, we serve as the collective voice of our members and shape the future of the industry through education, engagement, and advocacy.
Membership Classes & Annual Fees
MCGCIC offers four classes of membership:
Licensed Members - Those who hold a current and valid cannabis-related license from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
Annual Membership Fee: $150
Associate Members - Those who do not hold a cannabis-related license but have a direct commercial interest in the cannabis industry.
Annual Membership Fee: $500
Friends of the Coop - Individuals or organizations who wish to support the Cooperative and Industry Council activities without a commercial interest in the cannabis industry.
Annual Membership Fee: $250
Businesses-in-Planning - Those planning to start a cannabis-related business in the future.
Annual Membership Fee: $50
How to Join
To become a Licensed Member, Associate Member, Friend of the Coop, or Business-in-Planning:
Submit the required information on our membership form and pay the corresponding annual membership fee.
For Licensed Members and Associate Members, you must also comply with the share purchase requirement (see below). You will be automatically rerouted to purchase your share after completing your membership application and paying your annual membership fee.
Share Purchase
Licensed and Associate Members are required to purchase one common share and have the option to purchase one or more series A preferred shares as a financial expression of support for MCGCIC. The par value of these shares are as follows:
Licensed Members: Common Share - $150.00, Series A Preferred Share - $100
Associate Members: Common Share - $500.00, Series A Preferred Share - $100
Friends of the Coop and Businesses-in-Planning are not required to purchase shares but support the cooperative through their annual membership fee.

Regular Industry Updates: Stay updated with regular briefings on cannabis industry news, trends, and legislation, helping you stay compliant and ahead of the curve.
Policy Influence: As a part of the Industry Council, contribute to policy recommendations and the development of industry standards.
Voting Rights (for Licensed and Associate Members): Participate in the governance of MCGCIC and influence key decision-making processes.
